Arthur Sofa - 1.5 Chaise Longue

The Arthur sofa was created from the idea of versatility, considering all the different purposes a sofa can serve. Besides the fact that a sofa is primarily designed for sitting, it is the favorite place to cocoon, play, work, get together and much more. "I wanted to create a design that makes these different sitting and lying positions possible and, above all, comfortable," describes designer Frederik Delbart. For example, thanks to their slope, the armrests invite you to stretch out and experience ultimate relaxation.

Moreover, we wanted to design a model that seeks out contrasts and combines optimal seating comfort with a strong design language of sharp lines and soft, flowing curves. Arthur has a refined design that stands out for its clean lines and thus becomes recognizable, but at the same time feels very familiar due to its comforting shapes and organic curves.

Mublo partnered with Antwerp-based designer and creative director Frederik Delbart for the launch of his new modular design sofa Arthur and the matching James pouffe. Frederik Delbart, voted Belgian Designer of the Year 2018, stands out for his consistency in challenging the creative process, often with the use of natural materials. At every step of the design and creation process, Frederik always keeps sustainability in mind and is open to ever-evolving technology and time-honored craftsmanship.
